The wire is coated with a durable plastic enamel that should not peel or flake. All rings are tumble polished for a bright shiny finish.
Silvered enameled copper is made by plating the copper wire with a layer of pure silver before enameling, which creates a brilliant shine. Unlike niobium and titanium, copper rings must be colored before they are cut. This leaves the original copper wire visible at the cut. However, these are saw-cut rings, so if you close them well, no copper should be visible.
As with all colored rings, some fading will occur over time, but this can add a nice dimension to your work. The actual colors may differ slightly from batch to batch, as each spool of wire can be slightly different. Generally speaking, the color in enameled copper is much more reliable than any of the anodized metals.
These jump rings follow the American Wire Gauge (AWG), also known as Brown and Sharpe (B&S). All sizes listed are inside diameter (I.D.), measured in millimeters which corresponds to the size of the mandrel onto which the wire is wound. Use these I.D.'s as a guide, not an absolute.
